A second book that we are reading is Little Foxes by Michael Morpurgo.

I enjoy this book because of the adventure in it and the detailed description within the plot. It is about a boy named Billy Bunch found abandoned and went to many foster homes and everyone rejected him, all except one... This one lady kept him and there he discovered “The Wilderness’’ and there he found a mound of foxes until 4/5 where killed. He tried to save that one fox and his only choice was to run away into the hills.

I find that Michael Morpurgo is a talented subsequently when you read his work you feel the words washing around you and you are taken to the land where you feel you’re part of the action.

Little Foxes is a book which features a boy named Billy who is fostered by a lady who is sick of him because when he comes home he smells rotten and is filthy because he plays with 4 little foxes after the vixen died. He is lazy and the teachers don’t even like him because he never speaks, or if he does, he murmurs words out. Every lunch, he brings corned beef to lunch to feed the foxes and they gobble it down and drinks the milk powder mixed with lake water. He isn’t popular at all but he doesn’t care. This book keeps me thinking what is going to happen next, I am thinking what the foxes will do. He is thinking of the foxes but not the swan who left him. Every time he comes he hopes it will be there. It is based on a boy who loves nature and loves the foxes.

There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom

“Give me a dollar or I’ll spit on you” that sums Bradley Chalker up. The beginning of the story starts at a point where there’s a mean boy called Bradley Chalker, he’s the bully. He scribbles on his work in class, he spits on people, he has been held back a grade (It’s set in America) and there’s a new boy called Jeff Fishkin, however how does Bradley react to someone liking him, no-one has ever liked Bradley Chalker!

-Lewis

There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom is a great book to read if you enjoy humour and a bit of sadness. Also, Bradley (one of the main characters ) is a naughty but really hilarious character. Furthermore, the author is the author who has written Holes so that means you know it’s going to be good.

Finn

The book is based on this boy called Bradley. Bradley acts like a bully but inside he is all soft and generous because at school he threatens people whereas at home he plays with his animal toys. He comes across this boy called Jeff Fishkin and he was his friend and he use to obey a bit but  now they’re not friends anymore.
The author Louis Sachar also wrote a best-selling book called Holes.

Our First Book

The first book we are reading as a book group is "There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom" by Louis Sachar.

"Give me a dollar or I'll spit on you." That's Bradley Chalker for you. He is the oldest child in the class. He tells enormous lies. He picks fights with girls, and the teachers say he has "serious behaviour problems." No one likes him - except Carla, the new school counsellor. She thinks Bradley is sensitive and generous, and she even enjoys his far-fetched stories. Carla knows that Bradley could change, if only he weren't afraid to try. Sometimes the hardest thing in the world is believing in yourself.
